An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Occupational Therapy Assistant to be part of the CRT OT team within Ammanford and Gwendraeth Locality. We are looking for a driven individual, passionate about the value of community therapy to play a big role in transforming our community services across organisations for the people of Carmarthenshire and future generations.
You will be working as part of a multi-disciplinary team supporting service users to increase their independence and achieve their personal goals. The post holder will work independently and alongside the Occupational Therapist and other members of the team, to deliver assessed therapeutic interventions, which are meaningful to the individual and may include for example, skills development techniques, providing support and advice and the provision of equipment. The role may involve supporting team operations, dealing appropriately with enquiries and undertake administrative tasks relevant to the role.
Previous experience of working with people with complex healthcare or rehabilitation needs, using skilled handling techniques to facilitate patient movement and having experience with community equipment and social care assessment would be of benefit.
You should be able to demonstrate clinical reasoning skills, to enable you to assess and treat patients within protocols without immediate direct supervision. Training will be available to support with this as required.
As part of the role, you will be supported to work towards the Level 4 Therapies diploma whilst practicing.
The ability to drive and work across the County is essential, to use the fleet vehicle where provided and to carry equipment at times to patients homes
