We are now recruiting two new Ecologist posts:
These two posts will be in our Place and Sustainability Division and are permanent appointments.
You will be providing ecological advice on all planning and similar applications, consistent with local and national policy and legislation, and ensuring that development delivers net benefit for biodiversity.
You will need to be able to identify practical, effective, and sometimes innovate approaches to securing net benefit, and successfully communicate these to developers.
Your work will evidence how the Council is addressing its Section 6 Environment (Wales) Act 2016 duty.
The post will be based in the Rural Conservation Section, in the Council’s Place and Sustainability Division.
You will be part of a friendly, multidisciplinary team which covers ecology, landscape biodiversity, trees, woodland, and common land.
You will need a good level of conversational Welsh. Reasonable support can be provided on appointment to reach this level.
