Description
We are seeking a well-organised and detail-oriented individual to join our Children & Family Services department as a Data Disclosure Officer. This role plays a critical function in processing information requests in compliance with the UK General Data Protection Regulations (UK GDPR) and Data Protection Act 2018 (DPA).
As a Data Disclosure Officer your responsibilities will include handling requests from data subjects seeking information about themselves, as well as requests from partner organisations such as the Police. Your role will entail working in a professional and timely manner, collaborating with relevant social care teams to gather, organise, and prepare information for disclosure. While a detailed knowledge of the DPA and UK GDPR is preferred, it is not mandatory as comprehensive training will be provided.
An essential aspect of the position is possessing an eye for detail, along with a strong commitment to confidentiality and data security. Given the sensitive nature of the information involved, familiarity with social care services is advantageous but not essential.
We are looking for an individual with outstanding interpersonal skills, capable of maintaining professional communication with external partners and members of the public. The ability to work independently, collaboratively with others, and meet deadlines is crucial.
This role is both challenging and rewarding, offering the opportunity to contribute to a department dedicated to assisting vulnerable individuals and collaborating with partner organisations for essential information sharing. The work will be varied and interesting, being focussed on people. If you think you are the right person, we would love to hear from you.
You will need a basic knowledge of Welsh. Reasonable support can be provided on appointment to reach this level.
