Description

The 0-25 Disability Team is a multi-disciplinary team that includes Social Workers, Social Work assistants and Specialist Health Colleagues. We work with disabled children, young people and their families across Carmarthenshire and our through age model allows us to provide a seamless service to some of the most vulnerable in our community. This is an exciting opportunity to join an established , dedicated, and skilled team who are passionate about supporting children, young people, and their families. The postholder will have a supervisory role as a POD Leader and will lead support a small team of Social Workers, Social Work Assistants and Health Colleagues.

This role entails deputising for the Team Manager at times and ensuring that all statutory requirements within a busy team are met to a high standard. If you have experience of working within a statutory social work environment and understand the challenges of working with children or adults with complex needs or disabilities, then this maybe an opportunity for you. We are a team dedicated to improving the lives of children and young people in the Carmarthenshire area. If you are a qualified Social Worker, this is an ideal opportunity to join a highly supportive division, and we would like to hear from you.

We are passionate about supporting children and their families, ensuring that our social workers are equipped with the support needed to be where they are needed most - with families not files. Becoming a social worker in Carmarthenshire means joining a service which has strong foundations, a stable management team and a dedicated workforce.

We are one of the few local authorities that have consistently reduced the number of looked after children within their county and we have done this through innovation in our social work teams and investment in preventative services as well as working to empower and support families to become more resilient. We currently have some permanent and temporary opportunities across a range of teams from front line assessment teams to dedicated long term teams and 0-25 (Disability) Team located across a beautiful rural area as well as in bustling town areas such as Llanelli, Carmarthen and Ammanford.

We can offer you a comprehensive induction, regular professional supervision, hybrid and flexible working, and a supportive professional development programme. Children's social worker (gov.wales)
