1 x 0.6 FTE Liaison Coach Eastbourne (22.5 hours per week, full year)
1 x 1.0 FTE Liaison Coach Hastings (37 hours per week, full year)
£24,573
to £25,564 p.a. (pro rata for part time)
Fixed term contracts until
July 2022 with potential to extend subject to funding.
We are currently looking for two new Liaison Coaches to support the delivery of ‘Go Further’ project at East Sussex College https://www.escg.ac.uk/support/go-further/ . This is a collaborative national project with the Office for Students funded Sussex Learning Network (SLN): Uni Connect Project and ECCG to widen participation of under-represented groups in Higher Education. https://www.ofsuniconnect.org/.
The project is responsible for designing and delivering a range of activities and interventions to support young people and adults to progress into higher level learning such as Higher Education (Level 4-Level 6) or Higher Apprenticeships.
We are looking for individuals who have experience of working with a wide range of students in an educational setting preferably with knowledge / experience of working with groups that are under-represented in Higher Education, and an understanding of the barriers to progression that they may encounter.
Ideally you will have effective coaching and mentoring skills or interest in developing skills, and the ability to build trust and respect with a range of stakeholders. You will be an excellent team player with personal integrity and empathy. You will have proven communication skills including the ability to create innovative activities, both face to face and online. Our Hastings vacancy will also have the additional responsibility for supporting the successful cross campus Peer to Peer mentoring programme.
