This is a fantastic opportunity to join The Guide Dogs for the Blind Association as a Dog Wellbeing Technician in our Exeter Community Team.

The role
As part of the operations directorate, the Dog Wellbeing Technician is responsible for ensuring the mental and physical welfare and specialist care of dogs. This is achieved through carrying out husbandry duties in order to provide for the wellbeing of dogs whilst accommodated at a Guide Dogs site.  

Our technicians have an essential role to ensure first-class level of dog wellbeing and support, working with advisors, regional operations volunteer officers, GDMS & GDT’s to maintain the wellbeing levels required.

Who we’re looking for

You will be able to evidence willingness and ability to deliver the highest standards of dog care, with a desire to go over and above to ensure the very best service at all times. You will have proven experience working with dogs within a professional environment, as well as experience of coaching and mentoring, and experience of supporting a service.

Dog related qualification and experience of working with volunteers.

This role is 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week, with 26 days paid holiday (excluding bank holidays) a year. As a charity, we’re always keen to support flexible working as best we can.
