The role
The Head of Service – Northern Ireland helps people with sight loss to live the life they choose by leading the delivery of Adult, Children and Young People’s services to support people with sight loss and their families throughout Northern Ireland.  As well as leading Guide Dogs engagement throughout Northern Ireland, you will also have responsibility for NI-specific governance issues This role will also involve working closely with teams in Scotland.

Who we’re looking for
We are looking for an inspirational leader to take forward Guide Dogs engagement in Northern Ireland within the context of a National UK wide organisation. You will ensure that the characteristics and needs of people of Northern Ireland are reflected in Guide Dogs services. 

As an exceptional networker you will possess the skills to ensure Guide Dogs full engagement across Northern Ireland. You will have experience of working with local government on campaigns and improvement of services, developing and delivering a range of people centred services to external customers, and introducing major new initiatives/services which affect organisational change. A proven track record of effective working within a matrix structure collaborating with UK functional leads to support the development of a high performing multi skilled / multidisciplinary team in Northern Ireland is also essential for this role.

This role is 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week, with 26 days paid holiday (excluding bank holidays) a year. As a charity, we’re always keen to support flexible working as best we can.
