The Visiting Officer Development Scheme is a newly created scheme which will provide a good opportunity for career progression withiin an experienced, supportive and successful specialist team within Adult Social Care.

Your duties as a visiting officer will include delivering an effective and efficient service in relation to the completion of financial assessments for non-residential and residential services; providing benefit advice to service users, and supporting with benefit applications;  managing, as required by statute, the finances of those individuals who do not have the capacity to manage them themselves through appointeeship / deputyship; and arranging public health funerals / protection of properties / boarding of pets, when there are no other persons available to carry out the role. Training will be provided.

Good interpersonal and communication skills are essential, as is an ability to take responsibility for managing your own workload. You will also need to have good IT skills, including working with applications such as Access, Excel and Word. 

The post is subject to an enhanced DBS check plus barring list Adults check. A full UK driving licence with access to a car for work purposes is also required.
