Two exciting opportunities have arisen within the Corporate Finance Team for qualified accountants. 

The first post (ref. 101409) will work alongside our existing team of Finance Officers and be responsible for providing our Children & Joint Commissioning (including Public Health) and Adult & Community Based Departments with a range of financial support - including providing financial guidance and support to service departments, assisting budget holders in understanding and managing their budget position, the preparation of annual and multi-year revenue and capital estimates, the monitoring of revenue and capital budgets, grants and other special funding and financial evaluation of new projects and policies such as the new adult social care funding reforms.

You will also be responsible for managing and developing a small team of finance staff involved in a range of duties including payment of fostering allowances, residential care homes and Direct Payments.

The second post (ref. 102147) will be responsible for managing the financial relationship between the Council and Cleveland Fire Authority, providing support with strategic budget setting and Council Tax setting and be responsible for the production of the annual statutory accounts. In addition, the post holder will also be responsible for managing the cash book team and coordination of statutory returns including the RO and RA Forms.

This post will advise and coordinate on the implementation of new reporting requirements affecting the statutory accounts.

The Council is also currently trialling a Hybrid working model which means there will be opportunities to work from home.
