This is a creation of two exciting new posts, offering an opportunity of career progression for a dynamic individual.  Reporting to one of the three Heads of Finance you will be responsible for providing a wide range of duties as part of our team.  Duties will include:

  •  Supporting Finance Officers with budget setting, budget monitoring and provision of financial advice to budget managers 

  • Assisting budget holders to fulfil their service delivery objectives effectively and efficiently in accordance with the Councils financial frameworks and procedures. 
  • Providing financial support to a range of services and projects. 
  • Supporting the budget preparation and budget monitoring arrangements 
  • Supporting the closure of accounts and input into the preparation of Statement of Accounts and external returns

The ideal candidates will meet the CIPFA entry level requirements (see Person Specification) as the successful candidate will be supported in undertaking CIPFA training to become a qualified accountant. Upon qualification, candidates will have the prospect of furthering their finance career with Hartlepool as opportunities arise.

It is anticipated that the successful candidates will be appointed at Band 9, however candidates may be appointed at a higher Band depending on qualification and previous experience (see Person Specification).
