Hartlepool Borough Council has a permanent vacancy for a Team Manager within our Children with Disabilities Team. The team provides a comprehensive social work service to children with multiple and complex needs and their families through assessing need, creating packages of care and support and managing risk.

Hartlepool Borough Council is committed to providing a high quality social work services to children,young people and their families.  Devoting resources, energy, and imagination, we promote the independence and wellbeing of children and young people with learning disabilities through effective partnership working with families and other professionals. We are looking for a like-minded individual to lead our children with disabilities social work team and deliver continuous improvement in the excellent services the team currently provide.

You will be responsible for managing the day to day running of the team, provide reflective supervision, support and modeling for Social Workers. You will supervise the Assistant Team Manager (ATM) and Social Workers within the team. With the assistance of the ATM, you will also have a lead role in mentoring and developing newly qualified social workers as part of the Local Authority ASYE programme.

As the Children with Disabilities Team Manager you will also be responsible for promoting and maintaining excellent relationships with our colleagues in Adult Services, Education and other specialist services. You will also be responsible for assisting in the formulation of creative transition plans with key professionals to ensure children and their families receive a seamless service which places the child and family at the heart of all packages of support and interventions.

You should possess a social work qualification at a degree or diploma level (or equivalent), and have post qualifying experience ideally working with Children with Disabilities.
