Hartlepool is a vibrant and energetic town with growing prospects. As an authority we want to make Hartlepool the best it possibly can be and want dedicated, driven and committed staff to help us achieve that.

Hartlepool Borough Council are seeking to recruit enthusiastic and motivated School Nurses.  You will be a registered nurse or midwife with a specialist community public health nurse (SCPHN) qualification.  If you are a student SCPHN due to qualify in 2023 we welcome your application.  You will be working as part of our 0-19 Early Help team in the Family Hub model, and will be offered a preceptorship programme tailored to your needs, which will include safeguarding support, clinical and management supervision and ongoing training to meet your needs and enhance your knowledge of those children, young people and families you will be working with.

As a SCPHN School Nurse you will lead and develop a family centered public health approach, working with individuals, families and communities to improve health and tackle inequalities.  You will be part of a multi skilled school nursing team offering an extensive public health offer in schools and the community.

You will be committed to delivering evidence based practice, maintaining current knowledge of local and national issues that impact the 5-19 population. As a specialist practitioner you will professionally contribute to the on-going development of the school nursing offer within the Early Help Team as part of the Family Hub model.

As part of your benefits package the Council will reimburse your yearly NMC registration fee and may be able to offer NHS clinical nurses recruited to these posts access to Council long service leave entitlements.

Your NHS pension can be continued if required.
