This is an opportunity for you to develop a career in emergency management.

The role is a development scheme meaning that as you build experience and competence this is recognised, or if you already have existing experience this can be matched to the appropriate band. Significant training and development opportunities will be provided.

You will be expected to work independently, as part of a small team and within wider partnerships including the Cleveland Local Resilience Forum.  In addition to taking the lead for the emergency planning for one of the councils in line with key legislation such as the Civil Contingencies Act 2004, you will work across the breadth of resilience activities.

As you develop experience, you will be expected to lead on a number of specialist areas influencing both local and national policy and practice. You will be expected to provide advice and guidance to senior staff and partners including during emergency responses and recovery.

The majority of work is office focused with production of reports and plans, contributing to meetings, undertaking analysis, updating systems, provision of training and running emergency exercises. Occasional outside work is required for examplewhen undertaking emergency exercises or site visits.

The role is hybrid based at our offices in Stockton. You will be required to undertake vetting to Police NNPV level 2. At band 10 upwards you will be required to have possession of a current driving licence, have access to a vehicle and you will be required to participate in the standby scheme.
