Wrexham Council’s Children’s Social Care Department is seeking to recruit an experienced social worker to join the IFSS. Further information on the IFSS is available on the Welsh Government website. This appointment will enable a registered social worker to work with the existing IFSS staff. IFSS is intended for those families where parental complexities exist including substance or alcohol misuse, domestic abuse or mental health issues. IFSS is a multi-agency team trained in Motivational Interviewing and Solution Focused Brief Therapy to work collaboratively with families experiencing these difficulties. Our aim is to enable families to create a safe & supportive environment. Practitioners work alongside the families and the Children’s Social Care teams to facilitate an intensive intervention that supports and enables families the opportunity to make changes to keep families together. Practitioners will work across both Wrexham and Flintshire.

Experience of working in substance/alcohol misuse, mental health, or domestic abuse and/or therapeutic work would be an advantage to this post.

Contact Lucy Webb, Team Manager for further information on 01978 295431.
