G11 £40,478 - £43,516 per annum
The Assessment
and Intervention Team are seeking to appoint an Assistant Team Manager to join
the Management team. This is an exciting time to Join the Management Team as
Wrexham continue on their Improvement Journey.
The Assessment
and Intervention team comprises for the majority of undertaking referrals from
SPOA where an assessment is required. This is a fast paced environment and
requires quick decision making skills.
Wrexham Local
Authority have recently been through a significant period of change and the
applicant should be able to respond to constant change, conflicting deadlines
and priorities. They should have the skills to assist in the safeguarding of
children and other investigations and ensure compliance with the All Wales
Child Protection procedures in order to safeguard and protect children from
harm.
The applicant
will hold responsibility to supervise and mentor up to six social workers who
are newly qualified and experienced and also to provide support and guidance to
family support workers and any students that are on placement within the team.
The ATM will be required to support the manager in the selection and
recruitment of staff, to organise and chair regular team meetings, appraisal
for staff and the monitoring of performance making reference tothe council’s
capability, grievance and disciplinary procedures.
The roles
require the skills to plan, allocate and evaluate work carried out by the team
in order to affect the efficiency within the team.
This is an
ideal developmental opportunity for staff considering the step into Management

supports hybrid working, a broadly even balance between working from home and
working from an office base.
This post in
the Assessment & Intervention Team attracts a recruitment incentive payment
of £2,996 as a welcome to the Council.
The payment is
pro rata for part time employees. The payment is subject to normal employee
deductions e.g. pension, NI and Tax and other terms and conditions apply,
