£43,516 per annum
The Family Support Team are seeking an assistant team manager to join the management team.
The applicants
will be required to have substantial experience in children’s social work
including experience in managing complex child protection cases and completing
court work in public law proceedings.
The applicants
will be able to work under pressure to supervise and mentor up to 5 social
workers who will have a mixed caseload of child protection, care and support
cases and care proceedings. The applicant will be honest, reliable, punctual
and be able to work as part of a time and independently.
The role will
consist of supporting the team manager to ensure that performance deadlines are
met, work completed is of high quality and that children open to the department
receive a high quality service and are kept safe.
The role will
consist of chairing multi-agency meetings and supporting the social workers
they supervise to attend court hearings where required, chairing PLO meetings
and undertaking multi-agency strategy discussions and chairing strategy
meetings.
The role will
also consist of duty management responsibilities for up to 8 days per month
which will require the duty email inbox to be monitored and delegation and
instruction be provided on both urgent and non-urgent matters regarding the
safeguarding of children.
The role will
require management decisions and directions to be recorded within a timely
manner on the child’s file.
The role will
be full time and may often be required to work outside of normal working hours
on duty days.
An Enhanced DBS
check & Social Care Wales registration is required for this position.
