WELFARE RIGHTS OFFICER 

G08 £29,439 - £32,020

2 posts – 12 Months Contract

We have an exciting opportunity for two 12 Month Contracts to the post of Welfare Rights Officer, based within the Finance & ICT Department. The post will be located in the Lambpit Street office with significant home working.  This is an opportunity to gain specialist knowledge of welfare rights and may lead to a permanent position.

You must be able to:

- Show the qualities of confidentiality, tact and patience

- Demonstrate a competent understanding of Social Security claiming processes, relevant legislation and how to best apply these for citizens of Wrexham

- Have a good understanding of the ongoing changes to the welfare benefits system and how these impact on claimants.

- Have good analytical skills, the ability to communicate a wide-range of information and be able to forge and maintain strong relationships.

- Be able to provide advice in a variety of settings; telephone, internet, office and home visiting.

- Work as part of a team.
