Full time, 37 hours per week, permanent contract to start in August 2024.

East Sussex College Group is the leading destination College in the county for vocational training.  We provide Construction training courses across two of our four campuses in the group, helping to develop the future workforce for the construction industry. Our real-world workshops allow student to develop their skills, whilst preparing them to work safely on work placements, providing them with all-round training before they progress on to working life. 

Using your Site practical and theory experience and knowledge, you will help students on our Eastbourne campus fulfil their potential to progress into the Site Carpentry trade.  Teaching on our Level 1 and Level 2 City & Guilds Diplomas, including our large apprenticeship programme. You will provide students with the theoretical and practical skills to create top quality Site Carpentry.

You will preferably have a recognised L3 Site Carpentry qualification and vocational experience, as well as experience of teaching and a knowledge of the C&G carpentry curricula, in order to plan and deliver lessons that meet the requirements of the awarding body.  You will have a genuine desire to pass on your skills and wisdom, guiding and inspiring students, motivating them to learn and demonstrate their practical skills.  You’ll be able to provide real-world problems to challenge their abilities, engage in open conversations and assessment of their work and keep accurate records of progress. 

If you have experience of internal verification processes and a TAQA, as well as the ability to teach other basic trade skills, such as brick, paining & decorating or plumbing that would be an advantage.

Our Eastbourne site is a 10-minute walk from Hampden Park station and we also have ample free parking.  There are great value onsite catering facilities providing a range of hot and cold food and drink.
