  • our provider of file storage and management services if you email us directly;
  • our customer service software if you contact our support team; and
  • providers of assessments and marking services when you submit an application form where our recruitment process includes external assessments.

These suppliers’ use of your personal data may be subject to their own privacy policies, which are available on their websites, and which we suggest you familiarise yourself with in the relevant circumstances set out above.

(c)    if we sell or buy any business or assets, in which case we may disclose your information to the prospective seller or buyer of such business or assets, provided that they continue to use your information substantially in accordance with the terms of this Privacy Policy;

(d)    if all, or substantially all of our assets, are acquired by a third party provided that they continue to use your information substantially in accordance with the terms of this Privacy Policy, in which case information held by us will be one of the transferred assets; and

This includes exchanging information with other companies and organisations for the purposes of fraud protection and credit risk reduction.

8.  Data Retention

8.1   We retain personal information we collect from you where we have an ongoing legitimate business need to do so (for example, to provide you with a service you have requested or to comply with applicable legal, tax or accounting requirements).

8.2   When we have no ongoing legitimate business need to process your personal information, we will either delete or anonymise it or, if this is not possible (for example, because your personal information has been stored in backup archives), then we will securely store your personal information and isolate it from any further processing until deletion is possible.

    From 1st July 2025, all job applications will be processed via North East Jobs.  This applies to all vacancies advertised from 1st July 2025 onwards.  Any vacancies advertised prior to 1st July 2025 will continue to be processed via this site.

    We are delighted that you are interested in working for HBC.  

    Please take the time to read our Application Guidance notes above.  A range of our vacancies are shown below but to view all vacancies please click on "Search" and a complete list will appear. To apply for Council vacancies, you must first create an account by clicking on “Register”.  

    We only accept online applications and all correspondence will be sent via the email address you provide to us.     Once you have completed a section of the applicu can edit your personal details via your profile page whenever you wish.  We maintain a procedure in order to help you confirm that your personal information remains correct and up-to-date or choose whether or not you wish to receive material from us or some of our partners.

  •  In addition, you can object to processing of your personal information, ask us to restrict processing of your personal information or request portability of your personal information. Again, you can exercise these rights by clicking on the 'Contact Us' page and following the instructions.
  • You may also update your personal information by logging into the Website and visiting the 'Edit User Profile' page. You may also email us at workforce.support@Hartlepool.gov.uk in order to access, correct, delete or update your personal information on our systems. We will answer every email as promptly as possible.
  •  Similarly, if we have collected and processed your personal information on the basis of your consent, then you can withdraw your consent at any time.  Withdrawing your consent will not affect the lawfulness of any processing we conducted prior to your withdrawal, nor will it affect processing of your personal information conducted in reliance on lawful processing grounds other than consent.
  •  In order to withdraw your consent for the processing of your application please contact workforce.support@hartlepool.gov.uk
  •  You have the right to complain to a data protection authority about our collection and use of your personal information.  For more information, please contact your local data protection authority. (Contact deation form, please click 'save' before proceeding to the 'next' section of your application to ensure the information enteredhas been saved.

    If you have not received a response to your application within 3 weeks of the closing date please assume you have been unsuccessful. 

    All successful applicants for jobs with the Council will be required to provide evidence of a right to work in the UK.  Applicants for jobs who are EU/EEA/Swiss nationals should be aware that the UK has left the EU and the transition period has expired.  This means that to apply for and undertake work in the UK after 1st July 2021 EU/EEA/Swiss citizens now have to provide evidence of a right to work in the UK, e.g. Settled or Pre-Settled Status.  https://www.gov.uk/settled-status-eu-citizens-families The new system will treat EU and non-EU citizens equally.  Currently HBC are not a Sponsor employer.

10.       Children

10.       We strongly believe in protecting the privacy of children. In line with this belief, we do not knowingly collect or maintain personal information from persons under 13 years of age, and no part of the Website is directed to persons under 13 years of age. If you are under 13 years of age, then please do not use or access the Website at any time or in any manner. We will take appropriate steps to delete any personal information of persons less than 13 years of age.

11.1    Resourcelink uses cookies to enhance your interaction with our site. The cookies in this website are nUK’s points-based immigration system and there will be no change to the arrangements for the Common Travel Area and assuch rights to work etc. continue.
