HEAVY VEHICLE SERVICE AND MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN APPRENTICESHIP
£7.55per hour
Fixed Term
We are looking for candidates with the enthusiasm, interest and potential to become possible permanent members of our team upon completion of their apprenticeship.
We are offering three-year paid apprenticeships working for a large fleet operator that deals with many different makes and types of Heavy Goods Vehicles, Passenger Transport Vehicles, off-highway heavy plant, and specialist vehicles/ equipment.
During the apprenticeship you will work on all vehicle systems found within our diverse fleet. The nature of the work ranges from repairing/ replacing parts through to solving complex faults with the use of modern digital diagnostic and calibration equipment.
The tasks faced by today’s modern heavy vehicle technicians are exciting and evolving. The introduction of new vehicle technologies to our fleet, on-board safety and environmental protection systems, and diagnostic techniques require talented, skilled and qualified technicians.
We work from our busy modern Vehicle Maintenance Facility which includes:
· Maintenance, servicing and diagnostics facilities for HGV, PSV, off-road heavy plant and specialist vehicles/ equipment.
· Authorised Testing Facility HGV’s and PSV’s.
· Taxi inspection, MOT services.
· Vehicle wash and inspection preparation facilities.
· Fuel bay and vehicle fuel management service.
· Welding and Metal Fabrication service.
During your apprenticeship you will be supported and mentored by our experienced team whilst also attending college when necessary. Candidates will, depending upon course progression and performance (and basic driving licence entitlement), also haveopportunities to undertake further paid driver training and qualification to drive HGV’s and PSV’s.
Upon completion of the apprenticeship candidates who excelin their practical work and studies will be in the running to apply to join the team permanently; and if then offered such a position they will have the opportunity of undertaking further specialist training and development opportunities as part of their continuous professional development within fleet maintenance services.
