Hartlepool is a vibrant and energetic town with growing prospects. As an authority we want to make Hartlepool the best it possibly can be and want dedicated, driven and committed staff to help us achieve that.
We are looking to recruit a dynamic and motivated individual to help
drive forward the Council’s Road Safety and Sustainable Travel ambitions. This
is an exciting and challenging post that will have varied responsibilities,
from overseeing our Bikeability, Child Pedestrian Training and School Crossing
Patrol services, to promoting and developing Sustainable and Active Travel in
Hartlepool.
Key elements of the post will include developing the Council’s sustainable travel policy and delivery, linking closely with government policies, Local Transport Plan aims and objectives, and the Tees Valley Combined Authority Strategic Transport Plan. The post will also require experience in delivering capital infrastructure schemes, submitting bid documents for external funding, liaising with partner organisations, monitoring and evaluation, and report writing.
A background in Road Safety or Sustainable Travel will be essential as the successful candidate will also lead on promotion of awareness campaigns and activities in both Sustainable Travel and Road Safety. The post holder will provide advice as part of the planning process and have an awareness of transport policy and travel plan development, and will also require experience in both staff and budget management.
