Bank work – days, nights as and when required
Band 7 £12.80 per hour
Children's and Joint Commissioning Services have an exciting opportunity for Residential Social Care Officers to join our experienced staff team at Exmoor Grove Children’s Home Short Breaks Service and Residential Setting within Hartlepool. The home is judgedas Outstanding by Ofsted.
The aim of the home is to provide high quality care for children aged 5 to 18 years who have a learning disability and associated challenging behaviour.
The team work directly with children and young people with disabilities and their families and carers to deliver support and services, which promote change and development and meet physical, emotional, intellectual, behavioural, health, social and cultural needs.
The post holder will possess a passion for working with children and support them to develop skills enabling them to build a positive future. In addition you will be expected to display a strong team spirit, demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and have the ability to work across internal departments and with external agencies.
You will need to have appropriate experience and a professional approach to carry out all aspects of personal and direct care in supporting children with various disabilities and challenging behaviour.
You will receive appropriate training opportunities as part of your continuous professional development.
Applicants must have
· NVQ / QCF Level 3 Residential Childcare or equivalent, or a willingness to complete this qualification when in post.
· Experience of working with children and young people with disabilities or a similar client group
· A positive attitude and ability to understand trauma informed practice
· A willingness to work unsocial hours which will include early mornings, evenings, weekends, sleep overs, occasional waking nights and bank holidays.
