Children’s & Joint Commissioning Services have a 30 hour p/w vacancy within the family time contact team. The team primarily facilitate family time contact between parents/carers and children. Additional responsibilities include transporting children and providing 1-1 parenting support when required.

To ensure that family time is a safe environment for the children and their interaction with parents/carers is a positive experience for all present, we expect our family time workers to be organised, vigilant and be able to develop positive relationships with children and their parents/carers.

In the family time contact team we try and maintain a “one worker” model as this ensures that children in our care are not overwhelmed or anxious due to constantly being introduced to different workers. You must be able to recognise any risks or harm and intervene appropriately to de-escalate the situation or take immediate steps to reduce or remove any harm.

The post will also involve working closely with families, social workers, team managers, foster carers and other professionals to achieve better outcomes for children.

The ideal candidate will have access to their own vehicle and be able to use this vehicle at all times.
