37 hours per week (part time considered)

Due to internal promotion within the
service, Hartlepool Borough Council are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and
motivated School Nurse, applicants must hold or be due to qualify with a
specialist community public health nurse (SCPHN) qualification in School
Nursing. Consideration may be given to Health Visitor’s with relevant
experience of working with school aged children.
As a SCPHN School Nurse you will lead on and
facilitate the delivery of the Healthy Child Programme, including health needs
assessments, brief interventions and current public health initiatives. You
will work with individuals, families and communities to improve health and
tackle inequalities.
You will be committed to deliver evidence based
practice, maintaining current knowledge of local and national issues that
impact the 5-19 population. As a specialist practitioner you will be required
to professionally contribute to the on-going development of the School Nursing
offer including our taught health promotion sessions which are accessible to
our local schools.
As part of thebenefits package the Council will
be able to offer NHS clinical nurses recruited to this post access to Council
long service leave entitlements and Council occupational sickness payment
scheme, where they have the relevant continuous service.
