Hartlepool is a vibrant and energetic town with growing prospects. As a Local Authority we are striving to support the people of Hartlepool to the best they possibly can be and would like to recruit dedicated, driven and committed people to help us achieve that.

We are seeking to recruit a Family Support Worker to the Early Help service in Hartlepool. As a Family Support Worker, you will be supported with regular supervision, comprehensive training and friendly, welcoming colleagues. You will be based in one of our Family Hubs and will be joining us on a journey of change as the Family Hub model builds from strength to strength. Do you want to join us?

If so, you will be qualified (please see Person Specification for details of qualification requirements) to assess the needs of children and families and develop a plan for support to empower families to improve and maintain their overall wellbeing. You will either undertake an Early Help Assessment and devise a plan alongside the family, involving other professionals or support the plans identified in the Early Help Assessments that are completed by other professionals.

You will be supported to deliver interventions of support through delivery groups to both young people and parent/carers and also support interventions, when requested, that will support the family unit. As an experienced and progressed Family Support Worker you will be able to showcase your learning through passing this on to others, through mentoring and supporting your colleagues on an informal basis.

Progression from Band 7 through to 9 is subject to a progression criteria and the progression approval process.

For further information please contact Tracy Richardson, Team Manager on 01429 292444.

Closing date: Thursday 7th December 2023, midnight
