The Health, Safety & Risk Team provide advice to Council departments and schools within Hartlepool. The team are involved in a wide range of safety initiatives, from pro-active auditing and training, to undertaking incident investigations.

We are currently looking for a Health and Safety Adviser to join the team.

 

As a Health and Safety Adviser you will:

 

·      Act as competent person as required by the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999

·     Provide a health safety and fire safety advisory service, which supports, enables and regulates internal H&S performance, so that overall Council objective’s can be met without harming people, in a cost effective and efficient way.

·     Provide an advisory service to external organisations who commission H&S services.

·     Develop, organise and deliver internal training courses on health and safety-related subjects.

If you have previous safety experience, good communication skills and a successful track record of benchmarking safety performance, and influencing managers to take a course of action they are unsure of, we would like to hear from you. As well as the salary, the job comes with good local government terms and conditions and flexible working.
