The successful candidate with join the local authority at an exciting time for Hartlepool, with a number of high profile investment projects currently being planned, including the Waterfront development and projects to be delivered through the recently announced Town Deal and Levelling Up funding. Reporting to the Principal Economic Growth Officer, the successful candidate will be part of the Economic Growth Team that is responsible for growing the economy of Hartlepool by assisting businesses to start up and grow and through targeted economic growth projects.


The Economic Growth Assistant will be responsible for a range of administrative duties and support the team to deliver a variety of exciting economic development initiatives. This will include taking the lead in developing content for the team’s websites and social media channels, both to businesses and consumers, including marketing channels to promote tourism in the town. Ideally suited for a recent graduate or an individual looking for an entry-level role in economic development, the post offers the successful candidate excellent opportunities to develop their skills and experience in business, marketing and project delivery.


The successful candidate must be self-motivated and have the ability to work underpressure and within tight timescales. You will also possess good interpersonal and communication skills, as well as the ability develop long term relationships with colleagues and external contacts.
