Procurement and commercial activity is an enabler of transformation, at the heart of how councils deliver and design services to the communities it serves. 

This role will be critical in supporting the current and future aspirations of the Council in relation to procurement. The Council has embarked on an exciting journey to create a centre of excellence procurement team that has the agility and acuity to underpin the Councils ambitions.  

The Council believe that procurement can truly be transformational supporting many key objectives from ensuring the Council maximises all its expenditure for the benefit of its citizens to being a catalyst for Social Value and economic growth. 

This post will be at the hub of the procurement team at Hartlepool, making sure that the Council meets its current and future obligations in relation to key governance tasks, supporting the adoption and exploitation of new technology on the horizon, to working with data to spot trends and help shape decision making in conjunction with colleagues. 

This role calls for excellent interpersonal skills, a high degree of motivation and an analytical mind.  Excellent communication and IT skills are essential.
