Band 7-9 £24,702 - £31,364 pa
Fixed term for 12 months
37 hours per week over 7 days (includingevenings and weekends)
Children’s & Joint Commissioning Services have a vacancy within their Children in Care and Care leaver’s service for an experienced Family Support Worker working with children with disabilities.

Our most recent ILACS Inspection carried out In March 2024 rated us as ‘outstanding’ and highlighted that disabled children are supported by skilled and caring practitioners who are working with children with highly complex needs. Staff expertly support children to have a say in what is important to them.
We want to recruit dedicated, driven and committed staff to support us to continue to provide and drive this outstanding service.
This is an exciting opportunity for an outstanding Family Support Worker to work as part of our Children with Disabilities Resource Team.
As Family Support Worker, you will provide highly engaging, relevant and innovative support to children and young people with disabilities and provide them and their families with short break respite in a variety of settings such as, youth groups and 1:1 work within the community.
You will work closely with our Children with Disabilities Social Work Team and our Short Break Care unit at Exmoor Grove.
The ideal candidate will have access to their own vehicle and be able to use this vehicle at all times.
The post holder will be passionate about improving life chances for all young people and committed to supporting the needs of our children and young people.
Applicants must be:
· Fast thinking
· Enthusiastic
· Able to work both on their own and as part of a team in challenging situations
· Able to relate to children, young people and their families
· Able to provide support and services, which promote change and development
· Able to work unsocial hoursincluding during the evening, weekend, early mornings, and school holidays
