Band 10 £32, 076 - £34,834 pa

Permanent

37 hpw over 7 days (including evenings and weekends). 

 

Children’s & Joint Commissioning Services have a vacancy within our Children in Care and Care Leavers service for an experienced Family Support Team Leader working with children with disabilities.

Our most recent ILACS Inspection carried out in March 2024 rated us as ‘outstanding’ and highlighted that disabled children are supported by skilled and caring practitioners who are working with children with highly complex needs. Staff expertly support children to have a say in what is important to them.

 

We want to recruit dedicated, driven and committed staff to support us to continue to provide and drive this outstanding service.



This is an exciting opportunity for an outstanding leader to manage our Family Support Workers within the Disabilities Resource Team.

 

As the lead for our Family Support Workers, you will provide highly engaging, relevant and innovative support to the team to ensure that they in turn work effectively with children and young people with disabilities and provide them and their families with short break respite in a variety of settings such as, youth groups and 1:1 work within the community.

 

You will work closely with our Children with Disabilities Social Work Team manager and our Short Break Care Unit Manager at Exmoor Grove.

 

The post holder will have an understanding and/or willingness to work towards understanding a wide range of Disabilities and the impact this may have upon children and young people being able to engage in social opportunities. The Post Holder will be required to use their initiative and imagination to unblock significant barriers children, young people and families we work with face regarding accessing social opportunities and building social skills.

 

The ideal candidate will have access to their own vehicle and be able to use this vehicle at all times.

 

The post holder will be passionate about improving life chances for all young people and committed to supporting the needs of our children and young people.

·       Able to work both on their own and as part of a team in challenging situations

·       Able to relate to children, young people and their families

·       Able to provide support and services, which promote change and development

·       Able to work unsocial hours including during the evening, weekend, early mornings, and school holidays
