Following the retirement of the current post holder, we are looking for an experienced manager to lead our small but dedicated Insurance Team to ensure that the Council has adequate and appropriate insurance arrangements in place to cover its activities, assets and services.
Committed to continuous improvement the successful candidate will have a clear drive to provide an efficient and high quality service to customers. They will liaise closely with department officers to ensure that all insurance activities are dealt with promptly and effectively and in a manner consistent with the vision and ethos of the Council. The post-holder is also responsible for coordinating the production and accuracy of insurance reports and management information.
Self-motivated and with excellent communication skills, the post-holder will be required to foster good working relationships with colleagues, with insurers, brokers, and solicitors involved in claims handling and also internal and external audit. They will be responsible for arranging insurance cover across multiple policy areas and for the provision of specialist insurance advice.
The post reports direct to the Shared Services Manager, although the post-holder will also be expected to liaise direct with senior staff across all departments of the Council.
