An exciting opportunity exists for a motivated lawyer to join the Council’s Legal Services Department and to manage a small team dealing with all of the authority’s property, planning and commercial matters. The successful applicant will have knowledge of the Council’s planning functions, strong commercial awareness and the ability to draft and complete complex agreements.

 

You will be capable of researching and advising upon all planning and other environmental issues, together with the competence of attending and advising members at Planning Committee, following an introductory period. The applicant will equally be capable of supervising the team dealing with the purchase and sale of commercial property along with other complex contractual matters.

 

We would welcome applicants with a specialism in planning, property or commercial contracts but with a willingness and ability to develop their practice into other areas consistent with this role.
