Band 13 £43,421 - £46,464 pa
Fixed Term 12 months

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic individual who is passionate about the health of people in Hartlepool, to join our Public Health team as an Advanced Public Health Practitioner.
This post will be fixed term for 12 months (available as a secondment opportunity)
We are looking for a candidate with a track record of implementing public health programmes in a range of settings, and with exceptional communication skills and ability to progress public health priorities through leadership at all levels of the system.
Public Health Advanced Practitioners play a key role in developing partnerships with and influencing all key stakeholders within their specialist area of responsibility including; implementing, monitoring and leading key public health programmes to reduce health inequalities and improve health and wellbeing.
Key areas of responsibility will include (but are not limited to):
· Develop the opportunities for research champions across the directorates
· Promote access to training for individuals within the Council, communities and stakeholders in research skills.
· Act as a link between departments, communities, university and other stakeholders.
· Working across the system to address the wider determinants of health and tackle health inequalities
· To support commissioners and partners across the Council and organisations represented on the Health and Wellbeing Board with respect to healthy lifestyles.
Required Qualifications:
• Master’s Degree in Public Health, Health Promotion or equivalent
• Another relevant degree, supplemented by public health improvement knowledge, acquired through training, courses and experience
• Evidence of continuing professional development
