Band 9 £30,559.00 - £32,654.00 per annum (plus 5% shift allowance and a tool allowance)

Permanent 

37 hours per week working as part of a 2-week rolling shift system covering the hours of 7am – 6pm.

If you are a qualified vehicle maintenance technician experienced in heavy vehicle maintenance and repair, this is an ideal opportunity to join our fleet team.  The Team ensures that HBC’s fleet of vehicles are well maintained so that the Council can provide its services to the residents of Hartlepool.

 

HBC’s Fleet team are a successful Transport News Northern Fleet Of The Year award winning, well experienced team that work together to make sure that HBC’s vehicle fleet are maintained to the highest standards.  The team provides the following services:

 

 

·       MOT’s and servicing to HBC’s internal fleet as well as external lighter goods vehicles

·      Maintenance and repairs to a wide variety of HBC’s municipal fleet, meaning each day can be different in terms of the types of repairs and vehicles that you work on.

·      Preparing all of HBC’s HGV and PSV for MOT and providing an ATF lane service for both internal and external HGV and PSV vehicles.

 

We are seeking an individual to support our fleet maintenance and inspection programmes, and associated taxi inspection and MOT services, at our modern Vehicle Maintenance Facility which provides:

 

·      HGV, trailer and PSV equipped maintenance and servicing facilities

·      Brilliant heating and lighting facilities within the vehicle workshop so that staff can work comfortably all year round.

·      Authorised Testing Facility for HGV’s and PSV’s.

·      Taxi inspection and MOT services.

·       Vehicle wash and inspection preparation facilities.

·       Fuel bay and vehicle fuel management service.

·        Metal Fabrication service.

 

The job requirements

 

This is a permanent post with the expectation that the successful candidate will be working on:

 

·     Our heavy goods, passenger transport, vans and specialist vehicle fleet undertaking regular inspections, planned preventative maintenance and repairs.

 

·      After training and qualification as an MOT tester providing, support as necessary to our taxi inspection and MOT services. 

 

·     Participating in training and continuous professional development as necessary to support Fleet Workshop accreditations.
