Hartlepool is a vibrant and energetic town with growing prospects. As an authority we want to make Hartlepool the best it possibly can be and want dedicated, driven and committed staff to help us achieve that.
The borough is bordered on the east by the North Sea with much of the coast recognised as internationally important for its bird species and protected as a Special Protection Area site. Inland is a rolling agricultural landscape interspersed with a number of small and fragmented, but nevertheless diverse and important, wildlife habitats including 6 Local Nature Reserves and 52 non-statutory Local Sites.
We are seeking an Ecologist, looking to start or develop their career in local government. Based within the Heritage and Open Spaces Service this post offers an opportunity to work alongside other disciplines to deliver a comprehensive ecology service. You will play a key role in reviewing planning applications and advising on policy, in addition to being involved in a wide range of project work.
If you’re enthusiastic, and passionate about the natural environment, a good communicator and looking to develop your career we’d like to hear from you.
For further information please contact Sarah Scarr, Head of Service (Heritage and Open Spaces) on (01429) 523275.
