If you are enthusiastic and motivated with a passion for energy and the environment and want to make a real difference we have an opportunity for you to join our Strategic Development team and support our corporate climate change commitments.
The post holder will coordinate the Council’s ‘Net Zero emissions’ pathway, our response to climate change, decarbonisation and adaptation, and lead the delivery of our Net Zero Strategy. The post will be responsible for the delivery of the Council’s energy management plans, support the Building Services Design Team in the provision of energy services, and support the delivery of wider sustainability programmes. The post will promote and support the Council’s carbon reduction activities by working with council officers, elected members and external partner and stakeholder organisations, and be responsible for developing annual carbon auditing and reporting and produce an annual climate change report, as well as developing a new Climate Change Partnership. The this is an exciting post for a passionate and enthusiastic candidate and will provide the successful candidate with a real opportunity to make positive change.
You will have a degree in a relevant subject (or equivalent) with previous experience in a similar role with experience in energy management and an understanding of climate change legislation and policy issues. You will have effective communications skills with the ability to research, compile and understand a range of data and present this information clearly within reports on energy and carbon reduction. You will be able to work effectively in a small team, and be able to manage our own workload to set timescales and deadlines.
