ASSISTANT PSYCHOLOGIST

                                   

Salary – Band 10 £33,366 to £36,124

 

Full Time/ Whole Time -37 Hours

Under supervision from the Virtual School’s Specialist Senior Educational Psychologist and working with a small team of other assistant psychologists, you will support the wider Virtual School team to:

·       Improve outcomes for vulnerable children and young people, including children in the care of the local authority, through direct preventative and early intervention work

·       Deliver evidence-based intervention programmes with individuals and groups of children and young people, working alongside key school staff and multi-agency professionals

·       Work collaboratively with educational setting and multi-agency professionals to remove barriers to learning for children and young people

·       Develop capacity in the workforce through modelling interventions and delivering training

·       Engage in action research to understand the needs of our vulnerable learners

 

You must be passionate about the application of psychology in working with children and young people and have a desire to develop your practice and knowledge of the role, as well as aspirations to undertake the doctorate training course in Educational Psychology.  You will have experience of working with children and young people in an educational setting or other relevant context, as well as an understanding of the importance of social and emotional needs as barriers to education, especially for vulnerable learners.
