Residential Social Care Officer                     Post Ref: 107374

Band  7 – 9 £25,992 – £32,654 per annum (pro rata)
Permanent 33 hours per week x2 posts

We want to recruit dedicated, driven and committed staff to support us to continue to provide and drive this outstanding service.

 

Children’s Joint Commissioning Services are recruiting to a children’s home within Hartlepool.  The aim of the home is to provide high quality care for 2 children aged 5 – 18 years who require a safe and caring environment to live in.  

 

As a Residential Social Care Officer you will possess a passion for working with children, and support them to develop skills enabling them to build a positive future. You will support children to access and participate in activities, trips and hobbies.

 

In addition you will be expected to display a strong team spirit, demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and have the ability to work across internal departments and with external agencies.

Applicants must have:

·       NVQ / QCF Level 3 Residential Childcare or equivalent, or a willingness to complete this qualification when in post.

·       Experience of working with children and young people

·       Previous experience of working in a supportive capacity to give practical assistance to children and their families

·       Previous experience of working in a supportive environment with children or adults  

·       A positive attitude and ability to understand trauma informed practice

·       A willingness to work unsocial hours which will include early mornings, evenings, sleep overs, weekends and bank holidays.
