An opportunity has arisen within the Planning Policy Team for a GIS and Planning Policy Technician on a development scheme basis.  The Hartlepool Local Plan was adopted in May 2018 and it is considered to be robust and achieving the aims it sets out to. The GIS and Planning Policy technician is a vital member or the team and wider council including the Development Management team. The role assists in ensuring the Town Planning Framework within Hartlepool remains up to date and is implemented accordingly.  

 

The successful candidate will be involved in a wide range of work including preparation of plans for Town Planning documents and associated evidence bases, collection and collation of data and preparing material for consultation events.  The successful candidate will have demonstrated a range of strengths including an ability to work to challenging deadlines, working well under pressure and an ability to adapt to changing circumstances, strong communication skills and an eye for detail.

 

Experience within the local authority sector would be beneficial but we would also welcome applications from the private sector. The starting salary will be based upon experience.
