We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Education Officer – Pupil Voice and Advocacy to champion the voices of children and young people with SEND. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference by ensuring that the views, experiences, and rights of SEND pupils are at the heart of educational planning, practice, and policy.

The successful candidate will work closely with schools, local authorities, families, and external agencies to develop, embed, and champion inclusive strategies that support meaningful participation and co-production with learners with SEND and vulnerabilities. They will:

·        Engage with children with SEND and vulnerabilities to gather their views and advocate for them.

·        Form meaningful relationships with young people and their families to discuss their situation, feelings and aspirations and define a way forward for them with regard to their future education and support they may need to be successful.

  • Ensure partners are informed of children’s views and this is central to decision making.
  • Hold regular updates with children to discuss progress and any issues/needs and take remedial steps/ action where necessary.

 

The post holder will have recent and current experience of supporting children and young people with SEND.  They will have the skills and expertise to communicate with children across all areas of SEND.


The post-holder will be passionate about improving life chances for all young people and committed to supporting the needs of the Hartlepool child.
