Wrexham County Borough Council (WCBC) declared a Climate and Ecological Emergency in September 2019, and committed to establishing a Decarbonisation Plan, detailing how we will work towards to target to be ‘carbon neutral’ by 2030.   Our plan has now been developed and approved.  However, we are aware that the hard work is just beginning.  We are seeking to appoint a ‘Climate Change and Carbon Reduction Manager’ who is knowledgeable, and can lead and motivate others.   The postholder will lead on the ongoing delivery and further development of Wrexham Council’s Decarbonisation Strategy and plan, as well as providing programme management and strategic leadership across the Council, ensuring the delivery of projects, with key partners and stakeholders.  The postholder will work with Elected Members, Senior Leadership team and officers in all services to ensure that our commitment to decarbonisation is embedded in everything we do.
