G04 £21,189 - £21,575 Pro rata (£10.98-£11.18 per hour) 

Based at the Visitor Information Centre in Wrexham Town Centre

28 hours per week (Monday – Saturday) 

The Town Centre, Arts & Events team are looking to appoint two self-motivated, visitor information centre assistants to join a busy team promoting the tourism offer in the County Borough.  The Visitor Information Centre team have recently moved into a modern, fully refurbished unit on Chester Street in Wrexham Town Centre, allowing the centre to continue offering an unrivalled level of tourism information about the County Borough, along with a strong retail offer featuring local food & drink, crafts and merchandise and the ability to stage small events that benefit local producers and the hospitality trade.

The post holders will primarily be based in the Wrexham Visitor Information Centre in Wrexham Town Centre and provide an outstanding visitor information centre experience and welcome.  Occasionally, the post holders will be required to promote the County’s tourism offer at various events within the County Borough as and when required.  

The role will be customer facing and rely heavily upon delivering an excellent level of customer service and retail sales to support the ongoing promotion of Wrexham County Borough and Wrexham Town Centre to retailers, shoppers and visitors - to ensure the continued growth and development of the visitor economy. 

The successful candidate will:

  •        Have a can-do personality and good knowledge of a retail environment.
  •        Have a wide knowledge of the town centre and Wrexham County Borough tourism offering (additional training will be provided).
  •        Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and communicate well with the team and the public.
  •        Have a flexible, collaborative approach and be willing to work some weekends and evenings depending on the needs of the business.
