A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join the busy and expanding ICT Infrastructure team at Wrexham County Borough Council. As a Technical Analyst, you will be working on a wide range of hardware and software covering all areas of the Council’s services.
Based in the ICT Infrastructure team, reporting to the ICT Infrastructure Manager, the post will play a key role in supporting the Council’s network technologies. Your work will be varied covering the implementation and support of new and existing enterprise level hardware and software for Wrexham Council, its employees, business partners, service stakeholders and members of the public.
The successful candidate should have good up to date knowledge and experience of the following skills and technologies:

Strong Cisco network skills are required. Must have worked extensively with Cisco
networking, and are familiar with design, support, and deployment of Cisco
routers, wireless access points and switches.

Experience of managing Cisco ISE.
·
Experience of Firewall Management, ideally Checkpoint.
·
Strong knowledge of network segmentation (VLANs, VRF) and routing across
a large number of remote sites using MPLS.
·
Experience of managing proxy servers any knowledge around Smoothwall,
Zscaler or any other cloud proxy would be advantageous.
·
Understanding of Site-to-site and client VPNs.
·
General understanding of load balancers any knowledge around Barracuda
and Citrix Netscaler would be advantageous.
·
Experience with configuring network monitoring software (e.g
SNMP, Syslog, Netflow, Solarwinds or similar)
· Must have advanced network troubleshooting skills

You should have a good experience in IT infrastructure and support and be able to demonstrate a systematic & analytical approach to problem solving. With the ability to prioritise workloads and to take ownership of tasks and projects assigned to you. You will also need to have excellent communication skills and enjoy being part of a successful team.
