We are seeking a permanent Caretaker & Cleaner to work at YSGOL SANT DUNAWD

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, conscientious and self-motivated person who would play a key role in maintaining the school site, to ensure a welcoming and safe environment for the whole school community. 

You will be responsible for keeping the school secure, be able to carry out minor maintenance repairs, carry out safety checks as required and ensure adequate records are maintained. As the main key holder, you will also be responsible for the daily unlocking and locking of the school.

Your duties will include ensuring a high standard of cleanliness, and you will be responsible for cleaning specific areas of the school for 5 hours a week (included in the 15 hours).

You will organise the efficient removal of waste from the building and the grounds, including recycling, and ensure that the outdoors are kept clear of weeds, litter and debris.

You will be expected to attend school as necessary outside of normal working hours in cases of alarm activation or other emergency.

The caretaker role is 10 hours per week, 39 weeks a year paid at caretaker rate £12.18 per hour. The cleaner role is 5 hours per week, 39 weeks a year paid at cleaner rate £11.59 per hour. There is the potential to increase caretaking hours in the future.

Standard hours of work during term time are 7–8am  and 3.30-6.30pm. Annual leave must be taken during school holidays. Hours of work during school holidays can be agreed with the Headteacher.
