GOVERNANCE & CUSTOMER DEPARTMENT

HEAD OF SERVICE: LEGAL, DEMOCRATIC & REGISTRATION

£61,607- £65,422 per annum

37 hours per week (PERMANENT)

The Council is seeking a strong leader for this Head of Service post which includes the statutory roles of Head of Democratic Services and Deputy Monitoring Officer.  It will be an exciting opportunity for someone who has exceptional skills in leading or managing a diverse range of support services.

This is a key role providing the lead on the design, development and delivery of services falling within the remit of the role and providing expert advice on these services. As a member of the Departmental Management Team you will contribute to the strategic and operational leadership of the department as a whole.

You will need to demonstrate that you have a sound professional legal background, with relevant management experience. You will also have the right skills and behaviours to lead a highly motivated team of professional colleagues within a rigorous financial context.

You will have a proven track record of managing change, delivering improvements and developing innovative solutions.  You will also be committed to the development and continuous improvement of your wider team.
