Secondment Opportunity - Head of Service (Strategy), Environment and Technical Services

Grade 15 £61,607 - £65,422 Per annum

A secondment opportunity is available seeking a motivated, creative and passionate leader to join our Environment and Technical Services Department at Wrexham County Borough Council to be part of the Environment and Technical Leadership Team over the next two years.

We are looking for an innovative and forward-thinking leader to join our Departmental Leadership Team and help drive our ambitious agenda forward. You will lead in your portfolio area and contribute to the wider delivery of our vison for some of the most important frontline services delivered for the people and place of Wrexham helping delivery of a suite of sustainable, efficient and safe services across the County Borough.

This portfolio covers some of our most visible and important frontline services. You will advise the Chief Environment and Technical Officer and Elected Members on key issues and strategies as well as leading on innovative change work and partnership projects.

We expect you to have a proven track record of achievement in the delivery of strategic outcomes, a proven track record of work at senior management level, the ability to lead on service and cultural change and the skills to contribute to our ‘One Council’ collective leadership accountabilities and goals. You will need to be a role model showing positive behaviours in line with the Council’s values – empowerment, trust and honesty, aspiration, collaboration, making a difference and fairness.

A sound attitude and passion for working and driving forward change is essential and a sound background knowledge of delivering and operating environmental and in-demand frontline services is desirable.
