Enforcement Services Officer

Salary : Scale G07 - £29,269 - £30,825

Wrexham County Borough Council are committed to the enforcement of parking and environmental crimes such as abandoned vehicles, littering, fly tipping and dog control.

To deliver this service, we are seeking to appoint an enforcement services officer to complement the existing enforcement services team and assist with all of the functions the service area is responsible for.

The successful candidate will be expected to assist and support the current team of 6 enforcement officers who visit the Council’s car parks and on-streets locations in Wrexham and throughout the County Borough to ensure compliance with the parking restrictions and when environmental crimes such as abandoned vehicles, littering, fly tipping and dog control are investigated, process the issuance of the fixed penalty notices and produce court documents as and when required.

The successful candidate should be customer focused and have excellent communications skills. The post holder must have a high degree of tact, diplomacy and integrity as there is likely to be regular contact with members of the public often in difficult and confrontational circumstances. The successful candidate will also need to understand relevant highway and environmental legislation and be able to convey this information clearly to members of the public. 

The hours of work are 37 hours a week Monday to Friday. A good level of education is required and a full driving licence is essential for the post.
