Wrexham Flying Start is a Welsh Government initiative, which has been running since 2007, that offers a real opportunity to make a difference to children under 4 years of age and their families living within areas of Wrexham who are most in need of support.

A new position has arisen for a Social Media and Marketing Officer to join the Wrexham Flying Start Team. The successful applicant will join a friendly and innovative multi-disciplinary team of professionals who deliver Flying Start services across Wrexham. The appointee will specifically work to the Service Coordinator and managers, in addition to supporting the wider multi-agency and multi-disciplinary team.

The post holder will contribute towards the growth and development of digital marketing and other forms of communication and marketing in the Wrexham Flying Start Service. This includes creating high quality content for social media, blogs, apps and other digital platforms to support various forms of marketing and services, as well as developing content for more traditional mediums like print. The post holder will be required to produce fresh, energetic and creative content and be a confident professional with lots of initiative, as well as highly skilled in using creative and analytical marketing tools and software and a strong personal communicator.

The postholder will work with the Creative & Digital Media Team to develop the design and production of high quality, effective communications for print and all digital platforms, and ensure all content created is compliant with WCBC brand guidelines, Welsh Government brand guidelines, Welsh Language Standards (WLS) and meets web and accessibility standards.

The postholder will be required to provide accessibility advice and assistance to Flying Start managers and staff in relation to the best practice in the design and creation of digital products, ensuring that staff are aware digital content must comply with accessibility requirements and web content (WCAG) guidelines, so that the service’s digital products are inclusive and accessible to all users.

The successful candidate should possess a relevant qualification and evidence of continuous professional development and have knowledge and experience of designing for multiple digital platforms such as mobile & Social Media and be confident using both creative and analytics tools.
