18.5 hours per week
Secondment - 12 months
The North Wales Adoption Service (NWAS) is looking for a youth/support worker to join our dedicated team of staff for a 12 month secondment. The post holder will be expected to travel throughout North Wales to deliver the service.
This role requires the post holder to:
• Contribute to established support groups in North Wales for adopted children and young people in partnership with the Adoption UK Connected Service
• Form and maintain positive and effective working relationships with adopted children and young people and their parent/s to promote their access to the groups
• Work within the Adoption Support Team and alongside the therapeutic family support workers to identify children and young people for the Connected Service
• To assist in the delivery of individual and group elements of the service
• To use interventions aimed at a child’s presenting stage of development
• To work from your own initiative, in line with all risk assessments, and adoption support plans to promote the wellbeing of individual children
• Develop your professional skills as part of on-going development
• QCF Level 3 diploma/ NVQ Level 3/CACHE Level 3 Diploma/BTEC Level 3 Certificate/Diploma in Health & Social Care (Child Care), Children’s Care, Youth Work Learning and Development or other relevant qualification
This is a 12-month secondment to work for North Wales Adoption Service and we are keen to receive applications from experienced and motivated people who are interested in developing their knowledge and skills in the field of Adoption.
