Relief Practice Educators (Workforce Development)
Casual / Relief
Grade G10 (£20.98 - £22.65 per hour)
We are currently wishing to add to our relief pool of Qualified Social Work Practice Educators.
You will need to be experienced and are registered (or willing to register) with Social Care Wales.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting and developing the skills, knowledge and experiences of up to six Social Work Students.
Our students are from a diverse range of backgrounds with different learning and support needs.
You would have the opportunity to utilise your experience to support the mentoring and assessing of Students who are completing their second and third year Practice Learning Opportunities (placements) with Wrexham County Borough Council in the Social Care service and Third Sector organisations.
Hours can be flexible including the opportunity to have some work in the office and at home using on line / virtual meetings with our students.
The post will involve undertaking “off-site” assessments which involves the provision of supervision; direct observations of the Student’s practice; linking with onsite mentors and University Tutors; assessing Students written work and providing a Practice Educator Report at the completion of the PLO.
An understanding and experience of managing complex situations and partnership working is needed. Knowledge of National Occupational Standards is required as well as a commitment to Codes of Practice.”
This work is funded by the Social Care Wales Workforce Development Programme (SCWWDP Grant) which supports training and qualifications for the Social Care Sector in Wrexham.
This service is delivered by the Workforce Development Team, which is part of the Human Resources and Organisation Design (HR&OD) function in the Chief Executive’s service.
